The organizational structure consists of three bodies:
Supervising board: General supervision and resources
Scientific steering board: Scientific steering
Project manager: Development synthesis
Collaborators: Who is working on the project
The supervising board overviews the evolution of the project. The board
consists of the head of Research and Development at DWD and the
directors of the departments Atmosphere in the Earth System and Ocean
in the Earth System at MPI-M, where the development of the ICON models for
the atmosphere and ocean takes place. The supervising board is responsible for
the general resources necessary for the project, and decides on the external
co-operation with other institutions. The supervising board meets on a biannual
basis to discuss the progress and to decide necessary actions.
