Short contributions aimed at outlining the basic
components of a GRID derived data type (N.Botta), possible extensions
of the ECHAM5 data structures (A.Rhodin, L.Bonaventura), model
functionalities and 'top-down' software desing (Kirchner et al.), an
example of parallel implementation of local, adaptive grid refinement
(R.Hess).

Joint outline of the basic components of a common
GRID (and, possibly, DATA) derived data type.

Contributions on different formulations of the
thermodynamic and moist equations (A.Bott, R.Klein) and on the
convection parameterization in ECHAM5 (M.Giorgetta). Discussion.
